As you may know, our game is currently in Early Access. But what exactly does that mean for you as a player? In this article, we'll explain what Early Access is and what you can expect from our game during this stage of development.
Why Early Access?
Early Access provides an excellent opportunity for us to involve the community in the game design and development process. Creating a game like Mutants: Genesis is all about embracing a shared vision, and this approach allows us to deliver an exceptional gaming experience for the broader community by incorporating valuable feedback from our players.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
Currently, we anticipate remaining in Early Access for approximately 6 months to a year.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The final version of the game will include a larger selection of cards for players to build and battle with. Additionally, we plan to offer the complete solo campaign experience, titled Book 1, which will allow players to delve deeper into the world of Mutants: Genesis through three more story arcs, enriching the overall experience.
We also intend to introduce achievements, providing players with rewarding challenges that feel meaningful. Supporting group play is on our radar as well; we aim to develop additional game modes and features with community input, ultimately working towards the implementation of in-game Guilds.
The full roadmap is available on our website and social media, check it out!
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The current Early Access build could be compared to a beta version – the game is comfortably playable, featuring a good level of polish and the main features already implemented, but it still requires additional content.
Players can complete the entire tutorial and Arc 1 (out of 4). The full Arc 1 includes the beginning of the PvE experience, culminating in a final boss encounter (Solo or Co-op). Arc 1 helps players familiarize themselves with the game mechanics, unlock early cards for each gene, and learn more about the world of Mutants: Genesis.
Additionally, players can engage in 1v1 battles against other players or the AI using premade or custom decks, allowing them to collect more cards.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Our game is free-to-play and will continue to be free-to-play, so there's no need for concern. Additionally, we have no plans to reset your progress.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
From today until the game's launch, we anticipate numerous stages of development, and we intend to involve the community every step of the way. Our goal is to engage in ongoing communication with a dedicated group of enthusiasts, recognizing the most active participants and providing complete transparency on the game's progress.
Celsius Online has extensive experience with LiveOps, having supported a game for more than 18 years with content and updates. We aim to apply this expertise to Mutants: Genesis and its community. Our dedicated Community Manager's role is to maintain open lines of communication between the players and our development team, fostering a strong connection. Utilizing robust analytics, community reporting, polls, discussions, and even an in-game reporting system that we plan to implement, our objective is to create a community-driven production plan.
